It seems that along with the departure of Scott Forstall as Apple’s VP of iOS software, so did the company’s focus on Siri. We’ve seen Apple launch updates to iOS 7 and iOS 8, and the most we’ve seen from Siri is a new “Hey Siri” function that doesn’t necessarily work as current competitors like the Moto X do. Still, we do know that the Apple Watch will rely heavily on Siri, and it’s only fair that Apple brings some updates.
In the embedded video you’ll notice two recordings of Siri, the first one with the current voice, and the second recording with a newer one that’s apparently slated for iOS 8.3. It seems that Apple is currently working on making Siri’s responses even more natural, and you’ll probably notice it in the way it’ll pronounce words like “potato” and “America.” Given the fact that Siri is pivotal to the way you’ll interact with the Apple Watch, it makes sense for Apple to invest a little more on this tool, but so far we only notice changes in the voice responses, and not necessarily in its functionality.
At the moment we’re still waiting for iOS 8.2, and given the fact that the source claims that we shouldn’t expect the improvements to reach users until iOS 8.3, we’ve still got a wait ahead.
