We’re not entirely sure what we’re looking at in this picture above. Whether it is the Samsung Galaxy S6 leaked (and an S Edge variant), or some Photoshop fun is anyone’s guess at the moment. However, if we play along, we can see two phone models, which would play nicely with previous rumors of a Galaxy S6, and asister-device with a double-curved display towards both sides, the S Edge.
The phone on the left is believed, and looks like, the naked Galaxy S6, with what appears to be a protruding camera (most probably, like in the iPhone 6‘s case, because of a thin form factor and a thicker camera system). Next to it there are two other phones of the same kind, dressed in cases, which is not really something that interests us at the moment.
The phone on the far right looks to have a curved (edge) display. However there’s a trick here, as the display is wrapping around the left edge, opposed to the right edge on the Note Edge. This could indicate that either 1. the phone will indeed have a screen wrapping around both edges, or that 2. Samsung decided to move the curve to the other side (which would make no sense, but the angle of the render doesn’t allow us to see the opposite side of the device). …and then there’s the same phone, to its left, with another case on, where you can clearly see the screen peeking out on the right side, confirming the dual-edge display.
However, and this is where the story becomes interesting, Samsung might have two different options for the S Edge. The company has been criticised by lefties because of the edge on the Note Edge running along the right side. Samsung could have learned from that, and might offer an S Edge (with a single side wrapped around) that would accommodate lefties (with the curve along the left side), and another version for the regular users. There’s really no way in telling just by looking at the render above, and maybe we’re reading too much into it.
That’s all we can logically conclude after looking at the image, which, if legit (and the phone looks like the one in these leaked schematics), could confirm the rumors for Samsung’s March 1 plans.
